take a look here: http://www.thebusschedule.com/cr/ look for the bus from quepos to san jose and also the bus from manuel antonio to san jose and see which one works out best. there is a direct bus and it will make a few stops. "direct" doesn't necessarily mean "no stops" - it usually means that it goes from point a to point b without having to change buses.the only way to go without any stops is to use the shared van shuttle.

Hey if you want a little off the beaten path road adventure take the Quepos to San Jose bus that goes by the way of the old road from the coast and up through Santiago de Puriscal and on to San Jose from just north of Parrita. See the REAL Costa Rica! Don't be in a great hurry on this route though.6
