8 nights in August

We are a family of 4 considering an 8 night break in the first week of August arriving from Singapore. We are interested in nature, rural settings, local culture and heritage. It looks like a bad time for Yangon due to rains. What would Mandalay, Pagan and Inle be like. Can we fit this into 8 nights and what mode of travel would be best. Advice for firming an itinerary appreciated.

Generally it will be still wet, but in my opinion, still worth going. Just wear sandles and shorts as sometimes you could be sloshing along some streets ankle/knee deep in water. Generally temperatures around 30 degrees, so not too bad. If you only have 8 nights, you will be stretched, certainly do Yangon, Bagan, (with a B) and Inle Lake, maybe give Mandalay a miss. You can fly to some destinations or the long haul buses between those centre are modern and reliable, but will take a day or an overnight trip to get there, those places are a bit spread out.

If you are interesting in culture and heritage, Mandalay and Bagan are better for you to visit. There are so many ancient Pagoda and other.
Check the following;
Day.1- Arrive to Yangon and check in hotel.
Day.2- Visit in Yangon and go to Mandalay by evening bus or flight.
Day.3- Check in hotel and visit in Mandalay
Day-4- visit to Mingun bell by ferry
Day.5- to Bagan by ferry
Day.6- visit in Bagan
Day.7- visit to Mt.Popa and look sunset by boat
Day.8- Visit to Bagan and back to Yangon by night bus.
Day.9- Dapart
You have to forget Inlay lake, 8 days is not enough to visit including Inlay lake.

Yes , I also agree with 2 # , Mandalay and Bagan have lots of heritage and culture of Myanmar.

If you can fly for destinations , you can visit to 4 big of Myanmar within 9 days .

D 1 : Arrival and Yangon sightseeing
D 2 : Yangon - Bagan by morning flight and continue Bagan sightseeing
D 3 : Bagan sightseeing
D 4 : Bagan - Mandalay by Express boat ( it is really nice for scenic views and nature along Ayeyarwaddy River ).
D 5 : Mandalay sightseeing
D 6 : Amarpura , Sagaing and Inwa
D 7 : Mandalay - heho by morning flight and proceed Inle Lake sightseeing
D 8 : A visit to Indein Viallage and fly back to Yangon with evening flight
D 9 : Departure .

Thank you for your suggestions. Is it simpler to use a ground handling agent or relatively easy to book domestic flights, hotels and ferry services online. Thanks again
