720hey Zabba et al,
there are still 100s of posts missing from the Western Europe branch (and I presume the other destination branches)
So i really hope you are indeed workingon bringing those back (and i doubt you'll find much profanity there)
no, as a matter of priority, could you bring the following thread back from the Twilight Zone: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/thread.jspa?threadID=2211841
This thread is linked in the WE Itinerary sticky, and hence, it's very inconvenient not to be able to access it.

721By the way, I notice now that the counter shows only 260 posts of mine, but I remember it were close to 2000. I guess the remaining posts will be added over time?
In addition, it seems that the feature that you can edit your post after publishing it seems to have disappeared, or am I missing something?

722Actually posts could only be edited until such time as their was another post on that thread, which eliminated the more problematic issues that could arise. It was a useful function. In addition to cleaning up typing, punctuation and grammar it gave an opportunity for a poster to rethink their words if they had a sudden rush of blood to the head.

723I have to say the return (albeit in limited form) of all the destination branches came sooner than I had expected, as we had been led to believe only Africa would be coming right away.
So... any ETA on the activities branches?

726Yesterday I posted up 3 or 4 links to newspaper articles about archeological sites here in Turkey and today I notice they have all been removed.
Moderators, can you tell me why this has happened? Are links to newspapers not allowed now?

728Yesterday I posted up some links to newspaper articles about various archeological sites here in Turkey and today I see they have all been removed.
Can any moderator please tell me why they were removed? Are links to newspapers not allowed now?
I ask because the articles were written by someone who frequently writes very well on lesser known area's of the country and so the articles are useful to visitors.

732my first comment to the mods would be: Great patience guys. I'm getting frustrated reading this thread. I can only imagine how you must feel. You're in a bad spot, and doing what you can, so thanks.
my first comment to to many of those posting in this thread is: Learn to read! All of your where are/when are/why did questions have been answered to the limit that they're going to be for the time being. That doesn't mean that the answers are satisfactory, but everything that are you going to learn about your questions that's available os here for the reading, so instead of waiting for hours or days for a response take a few minutes and read!
I have one foot out the door myself, but I do want to pull out some information that I wanted and will wait to see if that appears. I have said as much as I'm going to about the situation, which is unacceptable, and the current picture of things gives me no reason to stay, but after being here for more than a dozen years I can afford to wait to see how it shakes out before I go. Of course, if it stays like this I'm gone, since many of my contemporaries are already setting up new homes. If this situation goes on too long, or goes on unchanged, then they'll never be coming back, and honestly, neither will I, in any way that's productive to the board. Not that BBC cares, of course. lol

734South american branch is back but all the former threads and posts missing. Was that really necesary Lonely Planet? There was plenty of very valuable information impossible to find in any guidebook. 99% of the threads were more than appropiate and didn´t violate any forum rules. It is a real shame.
