North Island 20 day itenary - Feedback please!

Paiha - 2
Coromandel - 2
Waitomo - 1
Rotura - 3
Taupo - 3
New Plymouth - 2
Wellington - 1
Initially, i wanted to go to Napier to, but i don't know if it's worth the detour. If i am already planning to go to the Marlborough region in the South, should i skip Napier?
Also, any worth stopovers between New Plymouth and Wellington? I might break up that drive.

Why New Plymouth? Are you planning on climbing Mt Taranaki? I'd skip that and spend more time in Coromandel.Why are you buying a car? Not worth it for 20 days.
Napier and Marlborough are completely different. Except both have wine of course.
