Flights to Eritrea
I am visiting Eritrea for 2 weeks in December but I'm struggling to find the cheapest way to get there. I will be in the UAE before I leave for Eritrea.I've done a number of Google searches of the airlines flying to Asmara and then searched some of the airline websites....these websites are either unreliable or they quote exorbitant prices.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Dan

There are few flights to Asmara. I don't have updated info about the direct flights from the UAE to Eritrea. Last year, Nasair and Eritrean Airlines merged. I don't know for sure if they keep flying to Dubai. You could try to get in touch with them in order to get that info and, if they fly the route, to get info about schedules and fares. Alternatively, you can fly with Egyptair changing planes in Cairo.2
You'll have to check on the 'Dubai to factor', but a few other unsexy options are:Going via Sanaa with Yemenia to Asmara is an option for Tuesdays (10:40pm IY #630) and Fridays.(6:45pm IY #630)
Going via Jeddah with Eritrean is an option every day, at 7:20am however.
Going via Jeddah with Nasair is an option. Sundays at 11am flight UE 602

Thanks guys! Looking online the best I can find is about $440 (return) on Eritrean. I realise that competition on this route is scarce but it still seems expensive. Anyone know whether cheaper flight can be found at travel agents in Dubai?Dan

Hey Guys,I have actually just booked flights- heading to Eritrea in 2 weeks. I had to book online as I won't arrive in Dubai until days before I plan to fly to Asmara.
I booked a return flight from Dubai - Asmara with Egyptair for approximately $450.
Will write again after my trip....very excited!
Dan
