I read about not renting a car at the airport and agree, but where does one rent that is outside Panama City , so you do not have to hassle with driving around from the airport and trough the city? I am planning on visiting Portobelo and then traveling north to Boquette.1
Some suggest using Albrook as it is close to the canal and so easy to get out of the city when heading west. It is also close to the Corredor Norte which is the route to link with the road towards Colon. But I find the area around Albrook one of the worst parts to drive and often end up going round in circles.
