Please help me plan my itinerary for India trip :)
Hello! Can you please tell me what is a more realistic and fun itinerary:
OPTION 1
This part of the trip is decided:
Dec 15 to 18 Mumbai
Dec 18 to 23 Kolkata (working with a non profit there)
This part of the trip is open to change:
Dec 23 to 28 Delhi/Agra
Dec 28 to Jan 2 Goa
Jan 3 fly from Mumbai back to NYC
Pros: Lots of places!
Cons: so many flights, would it be too exhausting/disorienting
OPTION 2
This part of the trip is decided:
Dec 15 to 18 Mumbai
Dec 18 to 23 Kolkata
This part of the trip is open
Dec 24 to Jan 2 Goa/Kerala
Jan 3 fly back to NYC from Mumbai
Pros: less travel
Cons: won't see Delhi or taj mahal
Can you let me know which option you think is best, or suggest a third option for the last leg of the trip?
Thanks!
Leah

Hello! I have reserved a round trip flight from NYC to Mumbai from Dec 15 to Jan 3.6
sorry above. I mean "Christmas in Delhi and New Year in Goa.... wow"8
Hey there, I haven't been to Goa as yet (will be going though) but strongly recommend varanassi & agra as they are spectacular, also given you don't have a lot of time in India, you are honestly better off spending more time in less places than trying to see it all! India is really spectacular and you will thoroughly enjoy it, but it does require effort and you will be exhausted if you try and fit too much in such a short period of time.If your volunteering in the Mother House, make sure you stay near Sudder Street, there is this awesome roadside restaurant where a lot of travellers hang out in the evenings, I was there last week and it's a wonderful experience, one night a local musician came and joined us sitting on our little make-shift seats and started playing and singing, before i new it there was dozens of tourists, locals and children all standing around dancing and clapping! One of the most magical experiences ever!! Enjoy your trip there, it will be amazing, but you are better off sticking to Varanassi and Agra as they are closer and also you will have more time to enjoy and absorb the experience!
Cheers
