US Citizens Getting Bolivian Visas in Chile
Hi there!I'll be traveling to Chile & Bolivia in a few weeks, and I'm trying to figure out the visa situation for Bolivia. We have all of the documents listed on the Bolivian visa website (yellow fever vaccine, proof of hotel reservation, etc.), but I'm wondering where we can actually pick up the Visa. A few specific questions:
- Is it possible to apply for and pick up the Bolivian visa in Santiago airport (SCL)? How long does it take?
- Alternatively, is it possible to apply for and pickup the Bolivian visa in San Pedro de Atacama? If so, how long does it take?
- Lastly, is it possible to apply for and pickup the Bolivian visa in Calama?
Thanks!

Thanks vnrose. I did a search and found a few useful but old threads, but nothing with recent or complete details. I have a few follow up questions:1) In 2009, travelers needed to get a Chilean exit stamp in SPA before departing for Hito Cajon (the border crossing into Bolivia) - is that still true?
2) Apparently when travelers arrive at the Bolivian Border their passport is sealed and then stored by the tour operator until it can be processed in Uyuni, where travelers show their yellow fever vaccine and pay the fee. Is this still true?

I still haven't been able to find any concrete details about how this works after extensive searching! If anyone can help explain the process I'd be much appreciative!
