about booking plane tickets?

I was wondering how far in advance should I book my plane. I am leaving in June so I was thinking of buying my tickets in January or February. Is there a better time 2 purchase them. I just wanted to get other peoples opinion and experience. I was looking to fly into in London then travel all over to France by train or is it just better to fly straight into France. I will be traveling to wellington springs to meet friends some time during my two month stay. Thank you for any advice

The vast majority of airline fares are cheaper, the more in advance you book them.

OK...so you are flying from the US to England/France in June ?

If you don't particularly want to spend time in London then just fly into Paris...it may cost a little more, but it will cost you plenty more to stay a few days in London and then get a train/flight into France.

On when to buy...usually it is better to buy a trans continental flight well in advance..like 2-4 months before. So buying in February should give you more choice of flights and a better price than buying in May.

Sometimes you can get good last minute deals, but it is unlikely it for a summertime US-Europe flight........

well, if you're looking to go to France then it's better to fly straigt into France. If you're looking to spend some time in the UK before going to France then it's better to fly into London.

Isn't that just a little obvious?

5 months in advance is good. prices only tend to go up.

mmm... reading your previous threads, it appears you are going to teach English in France.

Having read your posts, i do wonder how on earth you landed this job, as the importance of grammar and punctuation appear to be lost on you...

Do you have a valid work permit? If not, you could be in for some trouble...

I will be traveling to wellington springs
Wellington Springs? The only place of that name I can find is in Australia... That doesn't sound like somewhere you'd go during a trip to "London and all over France".

Intercontinental, international within Europe, domestic .. makes no difference in my experience over the past 10 years or so. The sooner you book, the better chance of getting the cheap seat discounts and promotional fares.

#7 possibly a day trip planned in? Or a watering hole at Waterloo?

MTL - I'm so glad that you have the time to critique other peoples writing. I do not know you and you do not know me! I do not sit here in judgment of others and I'm sorry that you feel the need to do that. This is a travel site not a English class site. There are moments to focus on grammar and times to focus on just asking a question. you should listen to your mother when she says if you have nothing to say that's nice then don't say anything at all. I love you and thank you for your com

With all due respect, if you can't write grammatically correct English and make not one or two, but a whole string of basic spelling mistakes, you're scamming the person who's paying you to teach him your language.

Ignoring 5+ helpful replies because you're upset by 1 other reply, isn't very polite either.

Royal Leamington Spa, The Midlands. It's about 1 & a half hours outside London. Sorry I am a dumb ass at moments. Thanks to all of you who offered help to me.
