Travel recommendation for Laos - Vietnam - Cambodia?
Hi,we are starting our trip on January 1st and have 4 weeks to travel around. First, we'd like to go from Bangkok to Laos but we're not sure how to go on. Is it better to go to Vietnam or to Cambodia? Or is it possible to do Laos - Cambodia - Vietnam (or in another order) within 4 weeks? And how? We don't have a return flight to Germany, we'll book it when we know where we'll end up, so everything's open ...

Dear westwood,I don't think so. In this post, I wanted to know if it's possible to do all those countries, including Cambodia, in 4 weeks or if it's better to choose three of them and skip one. If so, I'd like to know which country to prefer, Vietnam or Cambodia.
So, if you are not interested in giving me satisfying answers or in sharing your travel experiences with me, please stop answering my posts ...!

Yes it is possible but not enough time IMHO. Go for longer or just do Vietnam, PP and Angkor Wat.You can go Bangkok to VTE then to LP then to Hanoi, that will take a week inc. about 48 hours on a bus. Then go south to HCMC then across into Cambodia, PP to SR then back to Bangkok. That one way to do it but I would stay 3 eeks in each country at least.

Yeah, four weeks is going to be very difficult but you could do it if you are on the move each day. From Bangkok you should go to Pai, very laid back and cheap, from there you can cross the border and head to Luang Prabang on the two day boat trip (Not an easy trip but worth it). From Luang Prabang you can go to Phonsavan and from there take the bus to Vihn in Vietnam. Then you have the choise to go up to Hanoi and Hanlong Bay or south. Head to Saigon and from there into Laos and back to Bangkok.We did this same journey last year but we took our time. You can have a look at our blog below as we have loads of tips and photos.

Hi,thank you for your answers! Your suggestions sound very good, maybe we'll do it this way. The only thing is that we don't have to go back to Bangkok as we don't have a return flight, we want to go back to Germany from the last country we visit. So which countries would you choose - Laos and Vietnam or Laos and Cambodia?
