All the travelers I saw in CA wore bikinis at the beach. The culture in CA along beaches is pretty conservative and people certainly do not 'flaunt their assets' there. The locals generally cover up pretty well, but there were just as many, if not more, bikini cladden travelers at the beaches during a random workday than locals.
