Grand Junction and Cortez are very warm in the summer. They are on the west side of the Rocky Mountains. Considering your route to Yellowstone, Grand Junction would be the spot. There are some hot springs spas in Ouray, about one hour's drive south of Grand Junction on Highway #550, but its air temperature may be cooler since it is at a higher elevation.

In Colorado,Glenwood Springs...Another option on your route would be Thermopolis WY. carracar

The most famous is Glenwood Springs. I don't know much about it, but it was a big draw for the rich and famous back in the 1920's. There are several hot springs, but I don't think they have been commercialized. You can probably do a google search for hot springs in Colorado and get some useful information.

Again, Glenwood Springs is at a higher elevation and might be even cooler air temperature than Ouray.

Thermopolis, WY isn't that interesting and neither are the springs. Salida and Buena Vista are both great towns and either have hot springs or near hot springs:

"Glenwood Springs is at a higher elevation and might be even cooler air temperature than Ouray"
Dead wrong! Ouray is about 7,900 feet while Glenwood Springs is only about 5,800 feet.

And I thought that you would be routing for your favorite Ouray! I did not realize that there was that much elevation gain along Highway #550 between Grand Junction and Ouray.
