Petra to Amman on a Friday?

I am planning a trip to Petra in January after travelling through Egypt and have realised that the day we have penciled to leave Petra and travel to Amman is a Friday.

Does anyone know what the transport options might be for that day?

Also to give a bit more information we are planning on travelling from Dahab after New Year, spend a couple of days at Petra and then have a few days in and around Amman before flying out.

Our schedule is really only defined by our flight out and wanting to be in Dahab for NYE so if transport is going to be difficult we could either leave Dahab a day later or hang out in Petra an extra day. If the latter does anyone have any recommendations for something else to do in the Petra area? Obviously a trip to Wadi Rum is a consideration.

Thanks!

Were it me I'd spend a day and night in Wadi Rum on the way to Petra.

Good luck.

If your questions is whether transport will be affected over the NYE no.It is almost a non even in the M.E.countries.Every thing is normal.
Yes visiting Wadi rum is worth while. It is just over one hour drive.

cheers

i just came in the oppossite direction, Amman-Wadi Musa, on a Friday, using public transport (minibus) I had to wait about an hour for it to fill, but it did.

Jett bus goes everyday. Even Fridays.
