Booking ahead private rooms at hostels & rainforest accomodations
Hello,My boyfriend and I will be in CR from Dec 8-25. I've booked us our first 2 nights and our last night but how busy will it be this time of year and should we be concerned with booking ahead? Our budget is private rooms at hostels.
Also asking for suggestions for a laid back rainforest accomodation, possibly one that is a hike in or close to some good trails.
Doing San Jose - La Fortuna, Monteverde, down the Nicoya, then down the south pacific to Corcovado national park.

You need reservations and permits to hike Corcovado, and stay at the Ranger Stations. Othwerwise, things get nuts from Dec 12 forward mainly at the beaches and and to and from San Jose as the local schools are out, and tourist start arriving by the plane loads Dec 17 to Jan 8th...is peak, with Xmas/New Years the beaches jammed. So get to Corcovado 1st, then work your way back IMO.ADVERTISEMENT
