How small is 'small'?Ronda's population is over 30,000, but if you mean smaller or very small what are you going to do with your time after visiting the, maybe, couple of 'sites' and a viewpoint with the possibility of most bars or eateries closed in the late evening because they know their market?
If you do not mean small, consider Antequera and Osuna, on an almost direct line between Granada and Seville. And as you are not on a direct route if taking in Ronda, consider Priego de Cordoba or Lucena or, if you look at the map, almost any name that might intrigue has something to offer for an hour or two or more.

I love Antequera not as beautiful as Ronda but less touristy and the view of the "red indian mountain" is quite amazing.3
Antequera, as already suggested, is very nice. I might do a day along part of the coast, then up along the 45 to Antequera and pick up the 92 to Sevilla. As an alternative, if time, the 338/402, 335 and 356 to the 45, past both Embalse de la ViƱuela and Embalse de Los Bermejales towards Antequera is a very pretty route. The journey is quite slow that way though.4
Will you be traveling by public transport or will you have a car?I also find relevant these questions made by annemariet in #1:

Hey my family has a hostal not far from Puerto Banus if anyone wants advice on Puerto Banus, Marbella, San Pedro, etc. i would be happy to offer help/advice. Our hosal is in San Pedro De Alcantara which is about 2k from Puerto Banus. Its a cool little place and we have a bar on our roof terrace + the first drink is free :)8
Rondo was one of the many highlights of our trip to Spain this year. It is just stunning.. Worth seeing .9
Im going to travel in Andalucia by carThat might indicate that they will be possibly be travelling by car.

For the past 5 years I have been living in a white village/pueblo blanco very close to Ronda. If you want to know more, just send me a private message. To clarify, I no longer post long, detailed replies on public travel forums. Too many ungrateful time-wasters.

Wow, I'm jealous, Seville is so beautiful, and Granada is fascinating (you have to go to The Alhambra) and DEFINITELY at least visit Ronda, it was a highlight of a similar trip I took late last year. You don't need a lot of time there. If you change your mind and do stay a night, make sure you stay in one of the hotels right on the gorge for once-in-a-lifetime, breathtaking views, and just soak it up. We stayed at the Hotel Montelrio, in the Marbella Suite, which had a balcony that was literally over the gorge. It was about 190 Euros (this was in Oct 2012), which sounds dear, but we felt was worth it (also it's a beautiful 'suite' with a lounge room, and a lovely bathroom, huge bed, etc - we felt very spoiled!) and included a great breakfast, and valet parking (which was a Godsend, as the streets right in Ronda are a bit tricky to manoeuvre). The drive through the Sierra Nevada is also gorgeous. We also wish we had had time to stop in at a few of the villages on the way.
