Pondicherry visit on New Year week..Need Advice

Hi All,

I am planning for a visit to Pondicherry & Auroville for about a week with new year coming in the middle.

I want to know about the safety aspect for this visit since I am a girl & planning to travel alone.

Is it safe enough to plan this trip? Safety tips that anybody wants to give?

Awaiting for a quick reply..

Regards,
Freemindtree

Where are you? Have you ever travelled in India before? Why, of all places, Pondicherry?

Hi, Freemindtree. Here is some Auroville safety information:

http://www.auroville.org/comingtoav/AV_travel_safe.htm

With regard to Auroville beaches, I can recommend the one at Quiet Healing Center. Repos wouldn't be so good for a woman, and I heard of another beach community where women were harassed, but I don't know which one it was.

So, the advice in future to all female travelers is to say you are Indian - tat's why you've received no hassle from hrny males.
