India to Bangladesh to Burma to Thailand overland
Currently in India, and my visa expires in 3 weeks. I'm contemplating trying to overland Bangladesh, Burma, Thailand.1) From what I've read you seem to have to name your entry and exit points in Bangladesh. Is this true?
2) Can you get a Burmese visa in Bangladesh?
3) Can you overland in/out of Burma?
4) Haven't worried about Malaria for years. How bad are Bangladesh/Burma? I won't hang around in Thailand, just fly back from Bangkok which is relatively safe.

Can you overland in/out of Burma? As Compadre has said on #1, this question has been asked dozens of times. It isn't possible.
2
Dear compadre, you seemed well informed about 10 months ago about the impossibility to cross overland from bangladesh or india to Myanmar. How is conditions now? is there any change?thanks for your reply,
fons

The impossible Bangladesh / Myanmar border crossing has been discussed in detail herehttp://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/thread.jspa?threadID=2229340
Pretty much only Al Jazeera English has been covering the latest events along that border. See for example

For more video news from the Bangladesh / Myanmar border areas, open http://youtube.com and type "rohingya" into the search box.
Alternatively, discussion about the India / Myanmar crossing between Imphal and Mandalay is here

Maybe you will be the first to make it over the India / Myanmar border?

It's kind of like beating a dead travel itinerary with a redundant stick, but i'll also say Bangladesh or India to Myanmar is not possible overland.
