one way ticket and bus ticket to Ecuador

If I fly one way from Miami to Cartagena where can I purchase a ticket from Cali to Quito? And if I were staying in Colombia for 30 days or even 3 months when would I have to buy my ticket to Quito? Before I fly to Colombia or after I arrive in Cartahena? I think I have to buy round trip ticket if I do not have a ticket of some kind already before I arrive in Colombia. Is this true. I will be flying on Spirit I think. Thanks, Paul

mm...there isn't a rule, if u want to flight i reccomend u to check LAN....i went to ecuador in august and from bogota to quito with return costs me 120 usd....so not very expansive.....from cali to quito there should be flight with lan, avianca ...and maybe tame....u can take the bus as well but it will be a long trip...anyway in this case u could stop in otavalo(recomend peguche) and visit the north of ecuador and south of colombia.....

When you mention the trip from Cali to Quito, are you referring to flight or bus?

Oh! Sorry, I was not clear on this.If I buy a ticket to Colombia from Miami I either have to purchase a round trip ticket or show a bus ticket that I will be leaving the country of Colombia. They require a round trip ticket or another way out of Colombia. I hope this is more clearly written. Paul Cowan

I too have purchased a one way flight from New York to Colombia (Bogota) and am curious if they enforce this rule.

Flying international, I have been asked for proof of onward travel and also not been asked. Percentage is probably about 50/50.

Last time, I bought a fully-refundable flight -- with an american airline -- and brought the eticket with me on the departure flight. Then I cancelled the flight and got the refund upon landing in Colombia.

It was emphasized to me to only purchase the fully-refundable fare from a major, american airline.
