Philadelphia Airport
Hey!I'll be in the states this winter and i got a few questions.
I'm not looking for any kind of tourism stuff, just some info about the airport in Philadelphia.
My problem is, i'll arrive at Terminal A and the connecting flight goes from Terminal B.
I googled it but didnt find anything that could help me.
So i'd like to get some info about directions or ways to get from A to B, cause i've found something
about some kind of Shuttle-service but also read that it takes quite some time.
I'll be there for two hours between flights and well, i like to plan things ahead so that i wont
have to worry about it later.
The next thing is, i'm not so sure about the baggage. I traveled by plane quite a few times already
but never had a connecting flight from the same airport so i honestly dont know if i have to pick up my stuff
and check it in again for the connecting flight since it's the same Airline ( US Airways ).
I really don't know if i have to take care of that myself or if it gets transported from one flight to the next.
That just brings me to my last question and that would be about baggage weight.
I do know that there are different limits for national and international flights, that's not the problem
and i got info about that already but the thing i'm thinking about is the following.
Can i get in trouble when i got too much baggage for my connecting flight?
Cause from what i know international flights allow more baggage than national ones.
Flight will be from Frankfurt ( Germany ) via Philadelphia to Denver.
Or does that count as "one" flight? Actually i didn't find any reliable info on the internet so i might as well ask here.
Well, i hope anyone can help me with this :)
Thank you

All passengers must legally enter the country at their first port of arrival, regardless of final destination. That means when you arrive, you'll pass through immigration, collect any checked luggage, pass through customs, then recheck your bags (usually a counter where you exit customs). This puts you outside security, so you will need to pass through security to get to your next flight.
If you booked as two separate tickets, you will keep your bag(s) and check in at the counter for the next airline.

Flights with an international leg generally follow the international rules. In other words, if you had a checked bag, you won't need to pay for it for the next flight, unless you booked the flight as two separate tickets.

Between terminals A and B, you can walk or take a shuttle. No reason that should be a problem. Map here: http://www.phl.org/passengerinfo/Documents/phlmap71312.swf (requires flash)5
Hey~I'm sorry but the last few days were a little busy c.c
But thanks for all the replies, i really appreciate the help.

Well, that's why i was wondering about it. I booked it as one ticket and both flights are with the same airline. That means when you arrive, you'll pass through immigration, collect any checked luggage, pass through customs, then recheck your bags (usually a counter where you exit customs). This puts you outside security, so you will need to pass through security to get to your next flight.

So for example if i'm allowed to have 50 lbs for international flights, but the limit on a national flight is idk, 30 or so, i wont get into any trouble cause it's a connecting flight? ( and no, no two seperate tickets, i booked it as one )

Thank you! I've already seen that map but it doesnt really show how i get to those shuttles, or i just haven't seen or found it.
for info on PHL airport see.......FLIGHTSTATS.COM /
Lufthansa flights arriving into PHL
GATES .... A25 or A26
Which airline are you connecting with ?
Thank you. Both flights with US Airways.Lufthansa flights arriving into PHL

After going through Immigration and Customs, you will probably be "outside" and will need to go back through security to enter Terminal B. But again, the terminals at that airport are connection and more than half the food and shopping is in a clump between terminals.
So it's not that difficult to find then?I was just wondering about it cause i read somewhere that it takes a while to get from A to B.
I even read that two hours wouldnt be enough. Okay well i think it depends on how long it takes
to get through Immigrations and Customs but still. I mean i have two hours to get from terminal to terminal,
but i just wanted to ask about it to make sure.

Both flights with US Airways.
The weight and size limitations for checked bags are the same, so don't worry about it.
Both flights with US Airways.
