Donate hair in La Havana?

Weird question.

I grow my hair out till it reaches my lower back and then I cut it and donate it to Locks of Love (http://www.locksoflove.org/index.html).

It turns out that I will be visiting Cuba in June to do research for my graduate thesis. I am wondering if there is a similar organization, or rather, a specific wig producer or children's hospital, anywhere in La Havana, where I can donate my hair in good faith and have it go towards a worthy cause, like helping children (or adults) acquire a wig after experiencing hair loss due to an illness or medical treatment.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks so much.

I do the same thing, but I've never heard of an organization like that in Cuba. Not saying it doesn't exist... but...

Good luck.

I realize that an official "organization" just for hair donation probably won't exist...but I'm thinking maybe someone might know of a children's hospital, or maybe an organization that takes medical supply donations that could point me in the right direction. Or maybe wigs just aren't a thing there, or don't exist as they do in the US? Different cultures do value hair differently. Hmmm...thanks for your reply. :)

I dont personally know of an organization in cuba, But I have had several friends there with Cancer and anytime a wig was needed they always requested it from abroad. It doesnt mean it doesnt exist in Cuba but might not wigs of quality or the concept itself is not too common.
if youre looking to help someone in need perhaps your best option might be Locks of love as you wanted to do. Often times in Cuba when a donation is made and it isnt something very common...it usually falls into the wrong hands (sold in the black market) or might sit somewhere and go to waste.so why risk it?
if youre keen on donating in Cuba...you might want to check with the larger hospitals in Havana that deal with Cancer patients

#2..... Believe me when I tell you, Cuban women value hair as much as anywhere in this world. Wigs, extensions, weaves.... a thriving business in Cuba.
