We r currently in MoalBoal in Cebu and considering going across to Bohol and Southern Leyte mainly to stay at padre burgos and do some diving.
Is the diving in padre burgos good this time of year? I know its unlikely that we will see whale sharks there but what else are we likely to see? We could potentially delay the visit to january - if we r likely to see more.
Where is a good place to stay? I have heard Peters - is this still a good place to stay and if so does anyone have a contact no?
Also Bohol - is it worth a visit? How is the diving there? Any information would be appreciated?
We have dived at apo island and diving tomorrow at pescador island. Also dived at puerta galera a couple of weeks ago. Would like to stay somewhere with a nice beach and some decent snorkelling or diving near by. Any suggestions?
Any help would be appreciated

1The diving at Padre Burgos is excellent, but the diving season there is slighty different to elswhere in the Phils, tends to be best after February but should be OK now. Peters is a great place to stay, right on the beach. Alona Beach diving is also very good especially Balicasag Island and the dive conditions there now will probably be very good..

4certainly bohol is worth a visit. good diving can be found at balicasag island, with plenty of dive operators based at alona beach

5thanks for the tips. We are heading over to ormoc tomorrow and then down to Padre Burgos and will give Peters a call.
Have been diving at Malapascua and the diving there at Gato island was excellent for macro. also did the thresher shark dive which was a bit disappointing but we did see 1 maybe 2, hard to tell as the visibility was so bad.
We are thinking about doing Bohol in January in a combined trip with camiguin and a bit of Mindanao.
Is there anywhere else in leyte that is worth a visit? Does anyone know the best dive sit

from where you will be, southern Leyte, that is easily done. You just go over to Surigao by ferry, nip west across the northeast Mindanao corridor to Balingboan for the ferry then when you're done in Camiguin, hop over to Jagna for Bohol. In the Philippines, you can always improvise ways to get round the islands. If you miss Bohol in late November the way you might have initially planned it, that doesn't matter because two or three or four weeks later you'll have another chance to get there.

9Just left padre burgos after 5 nights and i have to say it has by far the best diving in the philippines. We stayed at alicias cottage for 500pesos for the room which is the cheapest in the area. Nice room which we booked through sogod bay dive resort.
We dived with sogod divers who were excellent. The variety of sites were amazingespecially liked little lembeh for amazing macro muck dive and napantao for big fish and macro.
We are hoping to go back in january to finish our trip with some more excellent diving. I cant recommend this place highly enough
