Is there a way to go by boat from Buenos Aires to Salvador, Bahia?
I'm on a tight budget and don't want to shell out $700 for a flight from Buenos Aires to Salvador over the holidays. Is there a way to go by boat? Merchant freighters? I've gone on such boats before but this is my first time to South America.J

There are freighters that call at Buenos Aires and Salvador along their route. I don't know if you'll be able to make that part of the route though. You could ask this agency specialized in freighter travel or this other agency about it.
