Well if you have accomodation for free, then you'll get by on R$80 .00 per dayeven in SP. Of course, if she's providing bed and board, she might, not unreasonably expect you to pick up the tab for sightseeing, clubbing, drinks dinner etc in which case it won't stretch very far. Taxi, dinner, drinks, covercharge to a nightclub for two could kill at least three or four days of your budget.

If accomodation isn't free, you won't be having much fun and frankly on R$ 80.00 a day there's not much point giving advice on the rest of Brazil, you won't be going very far, especially in summer peak season. More cash required.

Meeting women? Er, try talking to them. It has always worked for me. Try talking to them in a social environment works even better, you'll find.

Hint: To pull this off in Brazil, will, for the most part, require that you speak Portuguese beyond the, bom dia/boa noite, sim/não, por favor/obrigado level.

Thanks. As far as staying with her i will be paying for my half of everything we do and food, me living at her place would be the only free thing. Also we will be in sao carlos for the majority of the time bc that is where she lives and be on the beaches and clubs on the weekends basically ill be tagging along with her and her friends. Point is she will eventually get bored and want to mess things up (prolly a couple weeks in) so that would leave me with 2 weeks of going off on my own. where would you suggest i live with me having to fly out of sao paulo at the end of january? I can make my own fun while im there if i am close to a beach and with girls around Ill make it.

Sao Carlos... it's pretty far from Sao Paulo city and quite a bit cheaper in my experience, but transportation back and forth to beaches and clubs will cost a lot. Is there any way you can get more money? If not, maybe a shorter trip? A month might feel like a long time in Sao Carlos in the best case scenario.

Bring twice as much money. Your budget would be marginal even with free lodging, impossible without. Brazil's not cheap, and the situation you're describing is not going to be cheap either.

You don't have anywhere near enough money for anywhere in Brasil unless you plan on living in the streets on a piece of cardboard.

Taking twice as much is good advice............being 20 and expecting to partying, etc, means you should bring 3 time as much at a minimum, especially if you think you'll be needing to pay for accomodations at some point.

And you really do need to double check the situation with your 'friend' in São Paulo. Unless you guys know each other from your own country or have a very clear understanding, she is going to expect that you pay her way when you're out. Just saying, make sure you know what you're in for!

Do you know anything about Sao Carlos? This city is in the country side of the state. It is not a small farm city, but anyway, it is in the country side and there is not a lot of things to do and certainly the chances to you find someone that speaks english is too small.
All the other guys here gave you good advices, but if I were in your shoes I would consider also contacting some hostels in Sao Paulo in order to verify if they need someone to work there for free accomodation. Consider also buying your food at supermarket and cook it by yourself. Avoid using taxis. Sometimes renting an accomodation for 1 month might be cheaper than staying in different places (just dont forget to choose a city with things to do for 1 month).

Sao Carlos is a university town. I met several people there who spoke English. (But yeah, there wasn't much to do.)
