Refused 6 month visa for Ethiopia - alternative options?

Refused 6 month visa for Ethiopia - alternative options?
The London Ethiopian embassy is now only issuing 3 month Visa's, and it starts from the day it's issued. Is there anything I can do to extend it once I'm out there? Would crossing into Uganda, Kenya or any where else and returning be a way to do this? Or even flying out of Addis Ababa to a neighbouring country?My plans were to spend 6 months out there volunteering, and this put's a major spanner in the works.

Either get the organisation you are going to work for in Eth to write a letter asking Eth Emb in London to giver you a business visa as a consultant for 6m. You take or send it to Emb.OR if they wont do that come on 3 m visa and extend it here after 3m
