Kumbh Mela 2013 January advice
Hi hoping someone who has been to a previous Kumbh MelaBasically I have been really looking forward to going but just found out the only dates I can be in India for are in January (have to leave to be somewhere for work by the 26th Jan at the latest)
As far as I understand the first proper bathing date is the 27th Jan!
My question is basically I understand some of the camps are open throughought Jan so will there be much to see if I am there mid-Jan? I'm guessing there definitely won't be the massive crowds that there will be later on but will there still be people bathing and will I still get a sense of the event?
Any advice/insight would be greatly appreciated

Most of the Akharas - or the Sects of the Sadhus will start arriving by December end into the Mela area -- Also January 14th Is Makar Sankranthi which is a very important day.Below is link of the Official Kumbh site http://kumbhmelaallahabad.gov.in/snan.aspx

Anybody looking for a travel buddy from new York to Allahabad for Mahakumbh 2013, please let me know. I would prefer company instead of going alone.
