Hotel in Hoi An

Hey Guys,

anyone got any suggestions for a Hotel in Hoi An?

looking for:

  • 2nd week in Jan.
  • relaxing location, but easy to get into town.
  • approx $50 a night.

We dont want a western style chain hotel, after something with local character.

thanks all,

btw when in Hoi An DON'T follow referrals to "Good" tailors or tours, by reception staff, unless you want to get stung!

Hi,
My husband and I just made reservations today for Windbell Homestay, about 10-15 min. outside of Hoi An Center. It is a small, family-owned place. I was a bit discouraged when I started calling several places (large & small) and kept being told that all rooms were booked (New Year holiday) but finally found this place. http://www.windbellhomestay.com.vn/?module=info&id=301

It got good reviews: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g298082-d1952702-Reviews-or10-Windbell_Homestay_Villa-Hoi_An_Quang_Nam_Province.html#REVIEWS

I'll post here and let you know how it was. Prices are $60/room/night for a Plum Room. The Riverside Resort still had rooms available at $99/room/night as of yesterday.

Good luck!

I've stayed a couple of times at the Vinh Hung 3, their best rooms are around $50 a night. It's relatively quiet, there's a small pool / terrace on the roof, and the place is a few blocks from the Old Town. The breakfast buffet is a slightly simplistic affair but the food is OK, and their best rooms have a PC in them - saves you the walk to a crowded Internet cafe.

IMO the beach places are usually more expensive than your budget, and the ones that aren't won't be very relaxing ! But we stayed at the Riverbeach Resort with the kids and had no complaints.

I live in Hoi An so I think Vinh Hung resort at Ngo Quyen street is a good choice. Ha An or Thanh Binh 2 or 3 is also nice and near the Town.

Thanh Binh 2 or 3 is also nice and near the Town.

I booked Thanh Binh 2 and moved the next day to Thanh Binh 3 because at Thanh Binh 2 there is no pool and the breakfast is served at Thanh Binh 3. It doesn't tell you that on any of the websites though.

One place to check out is the Betel Garden Homestay. It is awesome.

Good location for price and description is Hotels-in-Vietnam.com

We have used them many times for reservations with great results.
