Maureem, you really don't have to be here a long time to know what the forum is about. Insight, not seniority buys you respect here. Plus, I've probably been LIVING in Asia longer than you. Sorry, I like your posts, but you're way off this time.20
NormC:No you weren't. I checked the register.
OP: I find Vinh enchanting and would recommend people spend all of two weeks there just to take in the architecture.

#21 bassaleg, finally some solid advice for this poor guy. Thank you. But 2 weeks in Vinh won't do it justice. I suggest a month.22
#22I am worried now.
Have we given away that Hidden Gem?
Will it get inundated as folk flock to see THAT statue in the main square?

As you know Vinh has only 200 hotels with a maximum of 70 rooms. You are restricted to 14 nights only so the hotels can cope with the furious demand.

Well Maureen, considering that in my experience most Vietnamese that deal with tourists are hell bent on ripping them off to the maximum extent possible, I don't blame people for slamming the OP.That said, unless you have been in Vietnam for a few weeks, I strongly recommend against hiring a motorcycle to use in the city until you become intimately familiar with their driving patterns (i.e. pure but controlled chaos).
