I am planning to go to Lourdes in this Christmas. I am not Catholics, I hope a tourist is allowed to visit Lourdes in Christmas. The problem is : I didnt plan long before so that the tickets are expensive.
Does any one have an input on how to reach Lourdes the least expensive from Rotterdam area? And maybe the recommended least expensive accommodation?
Thank you very much.

3#1---TGV may get you to Toulouse but it's going to take a much slower train to get you to Lourdes. It's the same station where the TGV stops, the trains for Lourdes start ("Gare de Toulouse-Matabiau")
Also, in English, probably easier:
For lodging, depending on what degree of comfort you want, there are hostels, budget hotels and more.
Use hotels.com but follow the advice of a recent poster and after deciding you like a particular hotel, check their website--you can probably get it for less. If in doubt, call and ask. If you have any questions, look back for about a week, it's a great post and can save you money and time when it comes to hotels. For an idea of what you might find (a hotel) here's something from TA:
This is very definitely the low season, tourism-wise, so you should have little difficulty finding a room.
Try checking Destinations (top of the page) and you'll probably find some useful info on Lourdes and the area.
Here's a link to webcams for Lourdes:
As you'll notice, it is not well-attended (as it is during the summer) and everyone is wearing warm coats...
BUT..please remember it is located in the Pyrenees so plan accordingly:
The nearest airport is at Pau, but the only service at this time seems to be Air France, which is not going to be inexpensive...as well as the fact you'd have to get to Paris first. KLM and AF are linked so while you could fly from Rotterdam to Paris and then to Pau, since there is no competition, there are no cheap flights.

4Very good info! Thanks every one!!
I have just got an information that some places to visit in Lourdes will be close on Dec 26th. The best time to visit may not be in Christmas.

5#3 - What about the direct TGV from Paris to Lourdes? I did a quick check and they seem to run around Christmas.Much more convenient than changing trains in Toulouse.
OP: Have you checked with the Catholic churches? They may have group travels toLourdes which you can join. You don't have to join their activities and service there, but it's a good way to travel to Lourdes. Groups often fly in to Tarbes, which is close to Lourdes.

7I am not Catholics, I hope a tourist is allowed to visit Lourdes in Christmas...Nobody in Lourdes is interested if you are Catholic or not.
Very true...in fact, the current Pope is not a Catholic either but still gets a great reception, every time she visits...go for it...
