2I have ony traveled twice with Air Asia. Bangkok - Rangoon and 3 weeks later Rangoon - Bangkok. Both flights were right on schedule for both departure and arrival.
You had better check though to make sure your departure is from the same airport as your arrival. In my case it was Don Muang, the old airport. If you need to travel between Don Muang and Suvarnabhumi 2 hours would be awfully tight.

6I prefer the budget airlines in Europe myself. They tend to give refunds when they cancel flights.

7I have just returned from thailand and travelled extensively on Air asia besides Thai Air.Air Asia is mostly punctual but only flies domestically from Don Mueang Airport. You will NOT be able to make it from DM to Suvarnabhumi Airport and clear Customs/Immigration too within 2 hours.Suggest you fly Thai from Phuket to BKK as Thai flies into Suvarnabhumi(the only airline which does so domestically).I flew Thai for the same reason-it lands in Suvarnabhumi which is convenient for your outward flight to India.Thai has many, many flights between Phuket and BKK.I strongly suggest that you fly Phuket-BKK by thai the night before, stay at Hotel Silver Gold Garden(look up agoda) and catch your flight the next day.the Hotel is very good, very near the Airport(less than 10 minutes) and they have free pik up and Drop!!! I did just that.

8From Air asia website 'DMK will apply to all travel starting from 1 October 2012.'
just checked flights bkk - ccu for this week and they are leaving from Don Mueang. In fact Suvarnabhumi doesn't even come up as an option anymore when booking air asia flights.
Below are the details of the Bangkok to Kolkata flight taken from the air asia search engine, note the use of airport code DMK, this is don mueang. Flights from Suvarnabhumi are coded BKK.

9Thank you so much for your help. Going to Krabi and returning to DMK the night before to catch the morning flight from BKK to DEL - change of plans as need to get to Allahabad, so best connection is from Delhi. Jet Airways is the best option from BKK to DEL and then Air India to Allahabad. Let me know if there are any other connections, please. Apprecite the hotel details - will check it out.

11If anyone ... could really tell you if the flight would actually be on time - that far in the future - they are wasting their talents hanging out on here.
Post #7 ... I I strongly suggest you read the posts throughly before adding any nonsense answer.
Post #2 ... ALL Air Asia flights in Bangkok fly out of DMK
2 hours is too fight for an Indian domestic flight - and on to a International flight out of Delhi. Things go haywire in that country.
