Cancun to Cuba or Guatemala

Hello, I was wondering if someone can help me? I am planning on taking a three day trip from Cancun. I would like to visit Cuba or Guatemala independently or with a group depending on the price. Can anyone recommend a route/flights/sights or a tour group that puts together such things? I only found one company on the internet that offered Cuba for two nights three days for around $300 US per person and Guatemala to Tikal and some to other sights for $500 per person. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Any thoughts?

My point of view is you can't visit Cuba or Guatemala in only 3 days. It's true in 3 days you could visit one or, maybe, two places in Cuba or Guatemala but it's also true both countries are much more than one or two places. In other words, I'd leave Cuba and Guatemala for other trip(s) with more time.

Ditto. But if you just want to get your passport stamped (dumb if you're from the US), there are hundreds of signs in the Centro offering to fly you to Cuba, without the internet overhead. For Guatemala, you'd probably want to go to Tikal, Antigua, or Lago Atitlan. Not practical in three days.

There's much more to see and do on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula than Cancun. Why not spend your three days there?

The deal to Cuba is a great deal. You might be able to extend the return flight, i.e. come back days later, find your own lodging. Worth a try. You can do Habana viejo in a few days and have a ball !!!

To put Tikal in perspective, it will take you at least 4 hours to reach the Belize border by car (not bus) about an hour to cross the border, then about 6 to 8 hours to drive to the Guatemala border, 30 minutes to an hour to cross and then about 2 or so hours to the entrance of Tical. There's one very long day of your life. Now you spend a day at Tikal and come back. Other option might be to see if anyone flies from Cancun to Tikal, no idea if they do.

I again ask why bother, go see Tulum/Coba/Chitzen Itza and Ek Balam . Still ambitious for three days, but could be done.

I would go to Cuba if I were you. It's a remarkable place, spend your time in Havana.

My point of view is you can't visit Cuba . . . in only 3 days.

Other than to say you have been there, I don't see the point of going to Cuba either. Havana is an interesting city but you won't experience much of what makes it interesting on a 3 day, 2 night excursion from Cancun.

I can tell you this, Cuba has some of the best diving in the Caribbean and if you go to Cuba you should go diving because it has stunning coral reefs as well as different types of fish.
