Sandy Evans - wire transfer
We have planned a trip with Sandy Evans of Manyara Ranch. He seems wonderful thus far and the itinerary is perfect. We are now at the wire transfer stage. Does anyone have tips on securing the transaction? Also, has anyone worked with Sandy in the past? We are looking for a bit of comfort before we wire such a large sum of money.1
Have no insights into your particular safari operator. However, we've also had the same qualms about sending a buncha money with no guarantees that the operator will come through. We did know a previous client who said not to worry (!). We sent the money, we worried, and it worked out. I would try to find a reference from a previous client or three--that seems to me to be the only assurance. I agree even that is inadequate. This is a bad way to do business, in my opinion. I think some sort of escrow agency might be useful. Another check you can make is whether the operator is a member of the tourist organization. Look for a TALA Licence Number andTATO Membership: http://www.tatotz.org

I think these people are only operating lodge near Lake Manyara 120km from Arusha, but they are not officially dealing with Safari business. Check some reliable tours company which based in Arusha. There are many TATO members and some of them I have using them to huddle my people ie: Roy Safari, Sunny Safari, Shidolya Tours, Bobby Safari etc. For the moment I am giving Richard of World Tours And Safaris all of my business. Try them!
