airport transportHallo there,
we ll be arriving during the week at around 6pm at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport.
Our hotel ist near the Hagia Sophia. Could you please advise us on the best and cheapest way to get from the airport to the hotel.
The hotel offers a shuttle for 90€, which seems a little too much for my understanding. What other options are there?
Thanks for helping

1Hi - welcome back (after about 2 years ! !).
Sabiha Gökçen is quite a way from Hagia Sophia, about 25 miles or so, although €90 is a steep price.
There are buses into the Istanbul however.

2There are a couple of ways you can do this and both are reasonably priced.
1.Book a shuttle transfer. This is a mini bus which you share with other people going to Sultamahmet area.Okat it means you may visit a few extra hotels on the way to yours but not too bad.The good thing is you don't pay in advance only at your hotel door.Price is 10€ per person and there is one at 19.00 which should be convenient for you.
2.Take the Havataş bus from the airport to Kadıköy,it will drop you next to the ferry pier from where you can take the ferry over to Eminönü and from there the tram down into Sultanahmet.
Ferries run every 10 minutes or so as do the trams.Total cost 14TL per person.
The latter option will be fine if you travel light and don't have lot's of luggage to drag around :)
You could also book a private transfer but that will work out around the same price as a taxi,c.60€ but that is per car NOT per person.
Unless I was really strapped for cash I'd choose the 10€ shuttle!

4If you mean the municipal bus it is 6TL to Taksim and takes about 3 weeks to get there!

6I had arrived at this airport at mid day and took the bus to Taksim. From Taksim I took a taxi to reach Sultanahmet. The total journey time was close to 3 hours. From the airport to Taksim the traffic wasn't very bad but from Taksim to Sultanamet it was hell. I realised that tram is the best form of commutation so sarikanarya's option 2 would be the best.

7That airport may as well be in Bulgaria. Figure 3 hours for this journey, and just take the shuttle....
