Udon Thani airport to Vientiene (how to do it)?

I'm arriving to Udon Thani airport 4:25pm, do i have enough time to go from the airport, to Vientienne the same day, i don't really want to stay in Udon Thani, please let me know about the shared minibus from airport, to friendship bridge. I will need time to obtain a visa on arrival. Also, please let me know how to get to Vientienne, from the laos side of the border, the price, for 1 person, shared transport, or the local bus. I have a large backpack, in case the bus is too cramped, minibus or sangtheaw into town is OK, and may I pay in Baht ( i think the going rate is 20baht) for transport to Vientienne, in case the exchange rate at the border isn't good, i may not have Lao kipp with me until i settle in Vientienne, so may I pay in Baht? Thanks

So many questions and all have been answered here before.
The easiest way to get to Vientiane is by the mini bus; you get a ticket inside the airport. From the border take a tuk tuk or a taxi to Vientiane. You can change money at the border or use an ATM to get Kip.

limo service stand just outside arrival hall, 200 baht, as i was there last week. van should drop you at thai side, stamp out, 20 baht bus ride to laos side, VOA is very easy, do yourself, do NOT use any services. closing time on laos side, not sure, and not time to search, got to go. ENJOY

I think you have too little time and you'd better stay overnight in Udon Thani.
Although the distance between those two places isn't long, you need to allow time for getting out of the airport, organising a ride, crossing the border and passing through immigration, plus finding accommodation in Vientiane.
Too stressfull, especially with a large backpack (why do people want to travel with their homes on the back?).

if i can find a bed by midnight, i will be OK.

I think i can make it, and in my case , i am already traveling 7 years, so everything i have, and own fits inside my backpack.

Not if they have been answered many times before and the answers can be found by doing a quick search.

True, but sometimes those answers are many years old. To be honest, i already read those answers, but wanted to ask again (to confirm it). Thanks for answering.

if your flight arrives on time, you should be on your way out of udon airport before 5 pm, one hour to border. less than 1/2 hour to submit VOA. wait time, stamp in, should be in Vientiane before 7:30 easily.

tell tuk tuk / taxi to take you to nam phu, center of town, accommodations and food, couple minutes stroll from riverside.

OR, over night in UT. nice food town, great night market area, 80 baht limo to downtown / hotel / gh. on the cheap, fuzzy kens near bus station. walk to train station, all of 5 minutes, and very nice night market.

i've simply showed up, depending when you are going, but always something available. if going lower end, don't know if they would be on booking site or email-able or not. haven't been there in years, but never had a problem. anything i would recommend would be in the `15-20 USD range.

$2 = 16,000 kip. perhaps you could ask a shop owner if you could sleep in his doorway.
