Elections could disrupt travelling?

Hi there!
I'm thinking to travel to Togo this winter, starting from Ghana, but read that it's elections time shortly, for both countries, and I worry if this can be a difficult period with unrest etc before or after elections date.
Do you think it is better to wait and see, or hopefully it's not a big enough thing to disrupt travel of foreigners?
Many thanks !!
Nikos

Hi Nikos,
Do you happen to know the dates of the elections? I've already bought my tickets:)

I can't say for sure, but I remember sth like planned for November and postponed for early 2013
it needs a good search on the web, although news exist mostly in french language... (not for me)
if you get across firm result , please do send it!
