Help! Delivering DVD to Havana Film Festival
Hi,A documentary of mine has been selected for the Havana Film Festival in early December, but disaster has struck - DHL lost the film in transit. I'm desperately looking for someone who is travelling from the UK to Havana in the next 10 days to deliver a DVD to the festival. If anyone were kind enough to accept, I would send you a copy of the DVD by post and arrange for someone to collect it from your hotel or casa in Havana. No space, no cost. I would also give the kind soul a signed copy of the DVD when it comes out next year and an invitation to the launch in London. It's all totally legitimate, I can send documents and emails from the film festival and DHL as proof, tell you all about me and the film, etc. The DVD will not be sealed so you can even check the contents.
If anyone could help, please PM me or text me on 07881 292034.
Many thanks in advance

PS I've just realized that the last time I posted was for the same problem - DHL lost my DVD last year as well, when my previous film was selected! Moral of the story... don't send things to Cuba by DHL. I'm not going to be making that mistake again...4
I remember the last time you asked the favor.I hate to sound cynical but why are you not attending the opening of your doc?? and again second time? specially if the subject matter is Cuba and the doc is being shown at Havana film festival.
Also, Curious to to see your first doc to get an idea of the topic that you covered :)
Anyway, I will not be any help..I am going in January for 3 weeks so good luck!

Thank you posters for your replies. Amazingly, I got lucky yesterday and met a friend of a friend who has a friend who's flying to Havana on Monday - so problem solved.Aircanadasucks - I did attend last year, in fact, but this year I can't get time off work and don't have the money. But you have to send the film in two weeks before the festival starts, hence the DHL business.
The films are about children learning music in Cuba - will be available online from February at http://growingintomusic.co.uk/.

Socio, if it’s that important have your friend make a copy of the DVD on to a non metal thumb drive like SanDisk as a back-up. The SanDisk tiny drive is all plastic and he can keep it in his pocket without been detected and if the DVD is damaged during flight they can make another copy from the thumb drive to DVD in Cuba
