15Thanks for your advice and tips. I am breast feeding which is why baby is coming with me. Also bringing all his food, meds, repellant, net, etc with us. We've discussed with travel doctor and pediatrician. Most helpful has been expat colleague who lives in Yangon with her baby and has vetted our hotels and all arrangements which were made by travel agent. I came here for practical tips which you've been kind enough to give. Thanks.

17I think you should take your son and not worry too much. It'll be a wonderful bonding experience and as long as you are careful, all should be well. Anyway, every Burmese spent a good year or so of their life in Myanmar as a baby so why shouldn't your baby go there for a few weeks? Good for you!

26Actually im on a travel forum discussing my opinions directly related to the OP. Whether or not you like my post is upto you, some people disagreed with me and some people agreed that is what a debate is about. You can say whatever you want but a baby will not remember an oversees trip and if you go to a 3rd world country especially rural areas of it you are putting the baby at risk for only your benefit. Arguments like the locals all raise there babies there, other people having done it and it worked out okay, and it being "normal" are not arguments at all but simply ignorant.
Anyway i think i have made my point so i shall leave it there and stop hurting your feelings with my comments.

What did you use to avoid moskitos? How did you bath your baby? Hope your baby did not fall ill (diarrea, vomitting,...) ?
