Transport cafeI'm arriving tomorrow (Wednesday) at Heathrow airport about 7am and heading north in a car, around the M25 on to the M1, to Junction 26. I'll be desperate for a proper breakfast and I was wondering if anyone had knowledge of a transport cafe en-route. One of the caravan type cafes just off the motorway would be ideal rather than having to stop at a service station. Unfortunately I don't have time to start wandering off in to a town, I was hoping there'd be something in a lay by just off an exit roundabout.

1Assuming you've got customs and immigration to clear and pick up a bag, by the time you get to the car hie desk it will be 8 a.m and the M25 will, if you're lucky , be moving at about 10 - 20 miles per hour, so think about having breakfast at Heathrow and hope the traffic has subsided a bit by 9 a.m.
Incidentally, as you're travelling as far north as M1 J26, you might find it easier to take the M40 north to J10 (then the A43 to M1 J15A at Northampton - I rarely use the southern end of the M1 now, even after the recent widening, and its best to get off the M25 as soon as you can .

There are no transport cafes on the M25 or M1.
Your best plan is to exit at one of the junctions and find either a butty van or superstore with a cafe.
Sainsburys do a fresh 'Cooked to order' big brekky for about £4.
Tescos is roughly the same price, but precooked, dry and often quite tasteless.

3Mr Billy, I am aware there aren't any transport cafes actually on the M25 or M1 and was hoping, as asked, if there were any within spitting distance, the caravan type near the exit roundabout of a junction - as you call them a 'butty van'. The idea of a supermarket though might have merit.
mike, I'll have a look at the route. I've had breakfast at Heathrow before and invariably been disappointed, as you'd expect. It's overpriced and not greasy enough.

12Update - landed at 7:05am, out of airport at a quick 7:30am, drove away from the rental car place at 8am, easy drive up the M40 apart from the rain, stopped off at a transport cafe just off J16 on the M1 (called the Red Lion) and had eggs, bacon, sausages, tomato, baked beans, chips, toast and tea for £4.95.
