Problem of small change no more in Ukraine, at least in Kiev?

A friend of mine just came back from a trip which included the Ukraine, and has confirmed that there doesn't seem to be a problem with small change any more there.

I remembered not even five years ago, I read in some of the guides that just about everybody in the Ukraine was pretty insistent on being paid with exact money, which indicated an issue with lack of small change.

Hopefully other people who have just been to the Ukraine can confirm this.

When you're going to buy something in the morning time, you'd better have some small change in your pockets because sellers in kiosks and small shops didn't accumulate enough coins in their cash registers yet. But throughout the day and in the evening you usually won't have any problems with small change ))

Never seen this problem in the last 10 years or so. Ofcourse people will just refuse to take a UAH 200 note in a small kiosk when you buy some small thing for 1 UAH
