No. The ABC from the Terminal de Autobuses, La Linea heads towards Playas de Tijuana, then joins the cuota just inland. There is no road from Playas to anywhere, AFAIK. One way in, and one way out. The bus makes a brief stop at Rosarito, another at the San Miguel tollgate, then to the ABC station in Ensenada. It's a pretty straight shot. The Bus from the Central de Autobuses chugs straight south thru traffic for several miles before joining the cuota, as I recall, just above Rosarito.

SenorMike, to answer your earlier question, the SD Trolley line is smack downtown SD. Broadway is one of the major east/west arteries thru downtown (the Greyhound bus terminal is on Broadway), and much of the trolley line runs parallel to that, with many stops along the way. Leaving the bus terminal, you won't be more than 5 minutes from the nearest stop.17
I did not know the SD Greyhound station has moved, but its new location wont affect you much if it's near a trolley stop. Also, I would not recommend taking the bus all the way into central TJ. That would force you to acquire your FMM in Ensenada, and it is commonly posted here that doing so is a major pain if not impossible. Get off the bus, trolley or whatever at San Ysidro, cross the border, acquire and pay for your FMM all right there, and head for the ABC terminal nearby.18
Yep. Really discouraging to walk several miles to get there, then find it's been taken over by a ritzy hotel, and have to walk a couple miles more. It's over on the east side of the stadium now, and right next to a big trolley station and repair facility.I've used the Ensenada customs office by the drydocks. It's a modern, well-staffed office with friendly enough people.

There are direct buses from L.A. and Orange County directly to Tijuana. They are patronized by Latinos who want to go to Tijuana for medical care or to visit family. They are not expensive. Personally I'd hop one of them. I think one is Tres Estrellas de Oro and another one is Transportes California or something like that. I think the latter bus even stops at the central bus station in Tijuana and the Tijuana airport. They have a website. Then I think it's quite easy to catch a bus to Ensenada.20
You don't need a tourist visa by the way if you're only going to Ensenada.21
Sorry for the late reply. And the trip has been postponed until the 9th of December.marlajfish, I don't need a visa for Ensenada, even if I plan on staying a few months?

yes you are supposed to get one if you stay a few months. I've never heard of anyone asking, but it could happen I suppose. If you take the bus I think it's called Transportes InterCalifornia or something like that, they drop you at the customs office to cross the border. Then you have to walk over to the far right to the immigration office--far, far right they don't make it that easy to find--to get your visa then you walk over to the bank window to pay your fees. At least that's how it used to be, have not done it for a few years. Don't know if the bus would wait for you to do that to the central bus station but can't imagine it would cost more than two bucks to get there in a cab. I suggest going onto the BajaNomad website, it's where many Baja fans and residents connect in a community, and there's virtually no question there that can't be answered!25
Kind of a crappy way to spend Christmas Eve, at the L.A. Greyhound station! If you can afford a taxi from LAX to 1716 E. 7th St., you can afford a puddle jumper to San Diego instead.

Well, it's not a Wonderful Life, hee hee! Aw, maybe it is, what do I know?A puddle jumper is a commuter flight between nearby airports, and I see you already have looked at that option. It's about 15 miles from LAX to the Greyhound, and a cab would not be cheap. There are vans that will take you just about anywhere in the L.A. area for about $100, but outside of that, I can't help you much. Google around, and suerte!
And que le vaya bien!

Just found this http://www.lawa.org/welcome_LAX.aspx?id=292Note that Union Station is a couple of miles north of the Greyhound. But for seven bucks, maybe it's worth the walk? There might be more, look around.

Ryon, its moot now, I found a flight to San Diego, so....gonna use all the great advice you and everyone gave and...hope I don't get killed. :D
