Visa/Reciprocity Fees Brazil/Argentina

I am working with a group with planned destinations of Rio, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina from the US.
I know the Visa into Brazil (at present) costs $160. When we travel to Argentina I understand that another $160 has to be paid on-line prior to traveling to that country regardless as to whether we came to Argentina from the US or from Brazil.
Is this correct?

Yes, if you travel on either an Ameriacn, Canadian or Australian passport you need to pay on entry to Argentina.

Only if you fly into the two main airports in BsAs. Land crossing or a flight into another city does not attract the reciprocity fee.

160 dollars? geez, I just paid 55 AUD for my Brazil Visa....

Argentina only requires a fee on landing at the two airports in BA for certain countries. See the link #3 posted.

See this, just after I wrote my last post, I was informed by vnrose about this.

As of January 7, 2013, the Argentine reciprocity fees will be payable at ALL entry points, land, sea or flight. :(
