Arrving Tribuvan with visa in passports
Hi folks,Quick one - there's lots of info on here and other forums about how to get your visa sorted on arrival in Kathmandu however we decided to apply in advance and now have our visas already stamped in our passports ahead of our arrival next week.
Can anyone advise what queues we need to be in/avoid given the fact we already have our visas? From what I've read its very easy to spend some time queueing only to realise you are in the wrong queue. If anyone has any pearls of wisdom on this I'd be grateful.
Muchos gracias,
Chubby
PS Still waiting to hear from our guide re costs (he is on another trek currently) - from my previous post.

No ProblemThe queue (Sometimes 2 lines) on the left of the arrival hall are for those applying for visa’s on arrival, so therefore avoid these lines and head to one of the other desks.
Costs of guides should be fairly standard – The going rate is around about $25 per day for a Government Licenced Guide and around about $20 per day for a Porter/Guide – These prices include their own food and accommodation but not their transportation to the trail heads (and back) nor their tips – It will also be worthwhile making sure that he has insurance because if not, you are responsible if he has an accident / illness and needs medical care

Great, thanks Rob, much appreciated. Just trying to get through the airport as quick as possible as we've only a half day in KTM before heading to Pokhara. That's a good point re insurance actually, I'll need to check that with him once he is back in contact. Thanks again, really looking forward to this trip, Nepal has been on the visit list for a long time.

HiThe time it takes to get through the airport might depend on factors you have no control of. If your flight arrives shortly after another there could be already be a long unavoidable queue at immigration and a long wait for hold luggage.
It is worth following Rob's tips and to get to the immigration hall as quickly as possible so you are ahead of those on your flight. I was through in 10 minutes on my last trip (but had to wait 24 hours for luggage).
