Our experience was that the panga departure times were more placeholders than hard starts. Things may have tightened up since then, but it IS the Caribbean.

Hi there,

They bumped the panga ride back to Big Island to try and coordinate better the arrival for people who have same-day flights. It still arrives terribly close to the departure time, and even though it isn't your fault, the lady at the La Costena counter still gives you the stink-eye for not arriving the "required" 18 hours before departure.

This is especially true when the panga is full and the driver walks off to go chat with someone for twenty minutes.

Of course, usually the morning panga arrives and people make their connections without a problem. BUT if you want to be safe, if you are not willing to risk those precious minutes that La Costena gives you to make your flight, well...better you spend your last night on Big Corn.

And that isn't giving anything up on your vacation...Big Corn is great! Better nightlife, bigger beaches, plenty of places to explore. Things to do in Big Corn Island

Hi, Yes the bottom line is be on Big Corn the day before. Get a $15us room at Morgans or something, have dinner, take a ride around the island. The price for a taxi is only $1. The water between the two islands is pretty rough on a good day and anything can happen and does.

Though completely berserko I would never consider cutting it that close. Casa Blanca is my place on BC.
