I think they have lifted the ban, but be warned, it's the slowest internet on the planet. I was unable to attach a single small file photo with any email, it just timed out. It seemed like I used up about an hour everytime just to read the odd email and then to send my pre-typed email. Cost for that was usually around US$1.003
I am carrhying a notebook and didn't get online for the first 2 weeks while travelling here In bagn there is wifi - even at the Pagoda! But it's v. slow. I got a new gmail addy just for this trip so I didn't have to waqd thru non-essential stuff in the inbx. Facebook has never loaded for me - its all about the speed of the connection - not cnesorhsipI'd suggest you tell people you will be out of contact - there are better things to do in Burma than wait for stuff to download. BTW I currently have a decent connection - but its 5am !

we have been here since 5 Nov and managed to access all of the sites we normally use, including Facebook, Gmail, Couchsurfing. I don't think you will have a problem as long as you have internet access which is a rare thing. and even when you have it, it may work at the speed normal 10-15 years ago.Travel Photo Report
