New York JFK to LaGuardia transfer
So I arrive at JFK airport at 16:00 on the 2nd Jan.As there's not much flying out of JFK that night I'm looking at a flight from LaGuardia at 20:00 that night
Is four hours enough time to get between the two?
It seems you need to allow around 2 hours to get out of JFK, then an hour by bus to get between the two, is this realistic?
The flight from Laguardia is to Montreal, so would arriving an hour before the flight be allowing enough time to check in?
Also I can't seem to find the link for the shuttle between the two
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Airport shuttles. You're traveling during the height of rush hour.
If your incoming flight is domestic, you should be fine.
If it's international, which you seem to suggest, I probably wouldn't try.

Taxi would be quickest than shuttle but also most expensive. Or see http://www.mta.info on getting from JFK to LaGuardia by bus, subway and/or train.4
You should have enough time, but I would also suggest taking a taxi, unless the taxi line is very long. Shuttle busses will slowly grind around JFK picking up slow-boarding passengers at every stop, and take equally long to drop people at LGA. You could check the specifics the route though - just in case you're the last stop at JFK and first at LGA.
