Can't help on Mancora, but Can on Iquitoes.

Fishing for Piranha--you don't haver to book a tour. We used a guy named Johnie who was walking along the river front-Malacon--looking for tourists. He took us Piranha fishing for $10 each. Caught nothing at all until he took us to his Secret Spot--it was where the kids went swimming next to the floating village of Belen. Just cast into the crowd of swimming kids and got a hit from piranha immediately--hard to hook as they strip the bait off so quick , it's hard to react fast enuff.

Pink Dolphins--Only thing I know is that are not considered worthwhile eating as they are very mushy. Still on my bucket list to ride a horse into the amaqzon and harpoon a dolphin from horseback--maybe next trip.

I just want to see the Pink Dolphins, not eat them! And would like to do an Amazon tour for 2 or 3 days which includes piranha fishing and seeing things like the Pink Dolphins!

HI there, just returned from Iquitos where we swam near and around the pink dolphins and I caught a pirana among many other things, anaconda around my neck, python around my arm, tarantula crawling up my shirt, sloth on my hip and the list goes on... had an excellent guide, stayed in a small village, nothing fancy but enough and more intimate than any fancy tour company that never steps foot on the land...$113 per person per day, you can chose to some degree what you want to do. Let me know if you would like some more info and I will go through my emails for you...

If you're looking for a cheap jungle trip, consider Bolivia. You can fly to Rurrenabaque and arrange a 3-day trip from there for well under $100. Piranha fishing and dolphins included.

I wouldn't care much about www.renacoamazonlodge.es.... as the poster answers only posts about the jungle in order to drop that commercial travel agency.

I haven't been in Iquitos for a while so can't really recommend you something.
Two months ago Star Peru still had flights to Talara which is only 90' south from Máncora but it seems they no longer fly there or any place along the Peruvian coast, except Lima of course.
On the 15th September we flew to Piura with Taca which has round trip flights for 100 USD, no matter if you are Peruvian or not (this only applies on flights to and between Cusco and Puerto Maldonado). Peruvian Airlines have round trip flights to Piura for 244 USD.
Lan Peru is way too expensive for non Peruvians or non residents.

A night bus would be another option but it would be only slightly cheaper than flying if you take an Oltursa or Cruz del Sur night bus, two well recommended bus companies.
