Favorite Guatemala city airport accommodations?
Hi all,I know a common question that often comes up is where to crash on journeys to/from La Aurora airport. I appreciate all the feedback that I've found so far on thorn tree, thanks everyone!
We travel to Guatemala city often and usually stay at Patricia's Guest House B&B, which is great and we've always been really happy with it. We now have a 2 year old in tow, however, and appreciate the idea of private bathrooms so much more than before!
Can anyone compare Dos Lunas or Guatefriends to Patricia's for me in terms of value, etc? For anyone who might have tried both Dos Lunas and Guatefriends, which do you prefer? Or somewhere else? It seems there are a ton of decent options really close to the airport. I'm probably over-thinking it, so if others can share advice that would be great!
We'd like to keep the total under $50 USD (for all three of us), preferably less. And we'd love to have a room with a big bed and private bathroom, breakfast and dinner options would be great too...
We'll be arriving to domestic terminal (from Flores) and leaving next day from international terminal, so free airport transfers would be a welcome bonus.
Thanks in advance for any advice you might have!

Why not leave the two year old at home with friends and or family as they dont travel well at that age. They are just becoming to be assertive and put things in their mouths that casuses them to become ill and are often not potty trained.. They cry snd scream when denied their wishes which isnt what you will want in a hostel . Do your selves and your child a favor and leave them home.2
Villa Toscana might set you back a little more than that but it's an amazing value and breakfast and shuttles are included in the cost. In 2011 we had an early morning flight to Roatán and then 2 weeks later an evening return with early flight home and spent 2 very pleasant nights there.3
Dos Lunas is a very nice spot, it's been a while since I stayed but was clean, comfortable, and cheap, not to mention just a minute or two from the airport.5
Thanks for the replies so far. I'll look into Villa Toscana too. I have a friend who loves that place but said the price really starts to add up when you consider having to take taxis, etc. I'll double-check.Sounds like Dos Lunas over Guatefriends?
And last but least, I'm definitely not looking for toddler advice (but I know what you mean about the opinionated phase... haha). We're a Canadian-Guatemalan couple and our 2.5-year old has been to Guatemala many times already. She talks about our upcoming trip every day and can't wait to see all her cousins. The grandparents in particular would kill us if we left her at home!

I can't see that you'd need more taxis for Villa Toscana than Dos Lunes - they're both just a couple of minutes from the airport. Here is my Trip Advisor review with a few photos fyi. Have a great visit, whatever you decide!8
Thanks again guys! That was a sweet comment about lucky kid, we feel pretty lucky ourselves...I wasn't clear about the Villa Toscana thing, my understanding is that Dos Lunas includes free shuttle to and from airport, whereas my friend who stayed at Villa Toscana said she took taxis. I'm not sure if they include airport transport... From website, it really does look like a nice place!
Any feedback on Guatefriends would be welcome too... (or more thoughts on Toscana and Dos Lunas...)

When traveling to or from the U.S. I've stayed a few times at Hostal Los Volcanes near the airport. Clean, nice rooms with private bathrooms, plenty of hot water, TV, shuttle to/from airport, reasonable rates and breakfast is included.
