Help with Working Holiday Visa ?!

Hi There.

I know you probably get questions like this all the time , but I've looked all over google and been unable to find answers for the questions I have.

I initially applied for my WHV on the 24th October. I declared on my application that I had criminal convictions from when I was young. I was emailed by them on the 28th and asked to provide an ACPO certificate as well as additional information with regards the circumstances leading upto and surrounding each offence. I paid £89 for the premium service and received a few days later, it wasn't until last Tuesday( 5th November) however, that I sent it away.

On my ACPO certificate , it states that I was convicted of " housebreaking" in 2005 ( at the age of 15 , a group of friends and I made a moronic decision to enter the house of a friend whom was on holiday and take alcohol that belonged to his parents- one o my friends had the keys, was charged at the age of 16 and convicted at 17, got a £200 fine, I have stated all of this in depth in the additional info) , and a ' breach of the peace ' in 2006 , which was just a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, was given a £100 fine. Since then I have been completely law abiding and consider myself to be of good character. I have never been put in prison or been given community service.

I have two questions -

Has anyone got experience of anyone getting a WHV with a criminal record and do you think I will be okay getting my WHV granted?

When I sent the additional documents through, I sent it to the visa help desk email address as opposed to attaching them to my application on the website as I have somehow managed to forget the password I made for the website . I was sent an email back to say that they had received the email but when I check the status of my lodged application it still has a notification that says ' additional information required' from the 28th . So I'm wondering whether or not they have actually received the info, and how long it is likely to take to process after attaching additional documents ?

I have been really anxious about this , as I am flying to Thailand to meet my girlfriend this weekend, and we are planning to go to oz together after, she has already got her visa .

Any help, advice or tips would be appreciated .

Not clear what nationality of passport you hold, nor for which country you are trying to obtain WHV?

Hi....

Have you considered asking at your local consulate? If yes, what did they say? If no, why not?

Usually if you forget passwords, there are options for them to send you an email with a temporary pone - that might help you to attach/send the extra info in the way that they asked you to.
That in turn might then help Oz process your application.
Or indeed, call the consulate/visa help line and speak to a person about it (though it does cost some considerable amount of pounds to get through the menus to speak to a person).

Having a record will slow down visa applications for the rest of your life, so in future, apply more in advance.
(one of the consequences of choosing to break the law)
