Oman / Yemen Border

Hi there,

I wonder if it is possible, at this time of the year and taking into account the difficult context, to cross the border from Oman to Yemen by land. Got all my visas, and I do want to reach Sana'a first to get the other permits to allowed me traveling inland.

If not, any other ways to get in apart from air?

thanks!

Étienne

These things are impossible to say with certainty. It i not impossible that you can cross the border as far as Mukhalla. From there you will have to fly as there is no way in HECK you will get permits to travel overland through Marib, Abyan or Shabwa governates (the middle of the country). In the event you are turned away (a real possibility) There are flights on Felix Airways from Salalah to Aden.

Just as a final back-up plan I will probably get a multiple-visa for Oman (if you are not from a visa-free country), in case you are in eastern Yemen and cannot head on to Sana. Getting stuck in eastern Yemen is probably not the most brilliant idea...
