2 weeks itinerary
Hi!I'm going to visit Camodia for about 12 days (30 Dec - ~12 Jan), maybe a few days more or less. My entry point is Siem Reap and return flight is from Bangkok , but before getting there I'd like to spend some time on Koh Chang. I think it's better to book hotels in advance (peak season), so I'll have to plan ahead. My itinerary draft for now:
3 nights (1 evening+2 full days) in Siem Reap
2 days in Battambang
2 days in Phnom Penh
3 days in Sihanoukville
3 days in Kep
1 day transitting Kep->border->Koh Chang
I'm not too much interested in ancient temples, so I suppose one day for Angkor Wat will be enough. But isn't it too rushing, maybe it's better to exclude something? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

you seem to be doing the larger cities (apart from Kep). I personally would give Sihanoukville a miss especially as you are going to go beaches elsewhere but as you do not give much of a clue as to what you might be looking for it is hard to make informed suggestions.2
bigal1,Thank you for your reply.
I'm looking for, well, just being in pleasant places. Wandering around, eating tasty food, staying in comfortable rooms, some nature here, a bit of culture there, etc. Without much rushing and without trying to visit all must-see attractions by all means.
Also I'd like to travel overland and avoid long (more than say 5..6 hours) bus rides when possible.

To be in a well-order, I would suggest you the below program:Siem Reap (3nights)
Battambang (2days)
Phnom Penh (2days)
Kep (2days) It's nearer to Phnom Penh, 2 days would be enough as Kep is a small peaceful town. Should visit Koh Tonsay for either daytrip or overnight there to enjoy swimming and seafood barbeque there.
Sihanoukville (2days) it's closer to Koh Kong
One more day in Koh Kong is another option as it is a bordered province and you will be easily crossing the border to Koh Chang the next day. Oh if you have more time, staying at Chi Pat for homestay, trekking and naturally exploration is a good option. This is between Sihanoukville and Koh Kong.

I would probably cut out Battambang and rather than kep I would stay in kampot and visit Kep for the day and a great seafood lunch. I would also cut out Sihanoukville. Instead of Kampot/kep you could consider going from Siem Reap to Kratie (although this is a longer journey than you are looking for)I loved Chi Phat last year and am going back this year this link might be useful

I think I will cut out Battambang indeed, so my updated plan is:5 nights/4 full days in Siem Reap
2 nights/2 days in Phnom Penh
3 nights/3 days in Kampot
2 nights/2 days in Sihanoukville (won't skip it because it's on the way from Kampot to Koh Chang)
1 day Sihanoukville->Koh Kong->Koh Chang. Maybe will stop for one day in Chi Phat, not sure yet.

At the start, you said that you were not too interested in temples yet have 4 full days in Siem Reap. The temples there are amazing but 2 full days should satisfy most people and therefore you may be spending a little too long there. Otherwise, your itinerary looks reasonable, just suggesting you can get a day back here. I've travelled through the region at a similar pace and have some recommendations in the itinerary. Have a great trip!
