Ushuaia to SantiagoHiya,
Looking for great ideas out there!
What's the best way to get from Ushuaia to Santiago via Torres del Paine (W circuit)/ El Calafate/ El Chalten. Then boat up Chilean fjords from Puerto Natales to Puerto Mott, then to Santiago.
Bus/ Flight?! Have got about a month.

1You described one option already by yourself. IMO, the best option is to bus it till El Chalten from Ushuaia via TDP and El Calafate and then do the carretera Austral recrossing at esquel, El Bolson, Bariloche and finally Puerto Montt. Not sure if you can cross now from El Chalten to Villa O Higgins but if not take a bus to Los Antiguos, visit the famous and amazing Cueva de las Mano on the argentinean side an continue to Chile Chico and on along the carretera Austral

2I've heard Bariloche to Punto Varas is amazing, so thinking of doing that in February. Haven't figured out what's best between El Chalten and Bariloche, so the Carretera Austral sounds very good - haven't read yet much about it, so thanks for the tips!

3Don't fly. Definitely not - you'll miss some of the best stuff!
Definitely head to El Chalten for some absolutely stunning hiking - . Stop in El Calafate to see the glacier as well.
Bariloche is nice but skippable if you've already crossed over to Chile. I would highly recommend stopping in Pucon and climbing the volcano there, if it's the right time of year - .
And then the only other thing I would really recommend is Valparaiso - but you can do that as a day or overnight trip once you're in Santiago.
